Chicago artist Nez brings her cute, nostalgic art to life with the new Cereal Buddy resin art toy from UVD Toys. The little box of wonder debuts in a magenta edition with yummy cereal balls bursting out of the just-opened box. Recalling a happy Saturday morning of cereal + cartoons, the figure features big, wide eyes filled with stars and flowers.
While food package toys are pretty established, Nez’s design stands out with the sculpted cereal ready to pour into a bowl. The fun figure tickles that 3D itch that just wouldn’t be possible without this ‘extra’ detail. Toys that push beyond the ‘usual’ level of three-dimensional detail remind us of how we fell for art toys. The shoes are pretty fresh, too.
