Spreading kindness is a small act that greatly impacts those around us. Students can share the positivity with their friends and family with Kids for Peace’s annual The Great Kindness Challenge. Sponsored by OOLY, an arts and crafts supply brand, 20 million people worldwide will unite to perform acts of kindness for the week of Jan. 22.
The Great Kindness Challenge aims to prevent bullying by encouraging kids to perform acts of kindness for a week. More than 40,000 schools will try to complete the challenge’s 50-item checklist, which includes objectives like helping teachers with a task, reading to younger classmates, and sitting with new people during lunchtime.

Kids can spread positivity outside the classroom with special kick-off events in Carlsbad, CA. Students can enjoy a field day of kindness at The Great Kindness Challenge Community Kick-Off at Carlsbad Strawberry Fields on Jan. 20. Communities can come together with additional high-energy activities, such as spirit days and school-wide service projects, during the week of Jan. 22.Â
