Chinese New Year is almost here (2.10) and Abao’s one-eyed kitten is ready to celebrate. A fun mix of fluffy and not-so-fluffy, the Year of the Dragon Kiiti produced by Unbox Industries features a black + gold Kiiti soft vinyl figure and a colorful, cute plush dragon costume. The fairly unusual vinyl + plush/cloth mix is a fun, playful thing.
The dragon costume pops with reds, blue and yellows as well as whiskers with blue puff balls, yellow horns and googly eyes. It’s a bit silly, but charming and joyous at the same time. While it’s a bit hard to see in the press photos, the vinyl toy by itself looks pretty sharp with the subtle gold accents on the paws, nails and whiskers nicely complementing the otherwise jet black, glossy figure. While we’re pretty sure you could take off the dragon costume, it might spoil some of the fun. Then again, you can always go back and forth.
The Year of the Dragon Kiiti art toy (3″) will be available on Saturday (2.3) at 7 AM PST from Unbox Industries for $75.
